New year, new trends!
Whilst every King Arthur wedding is unique and each couple bring their own style, we love seeing new ideas & trends adapting over the years, some making a comeback.
2021 is going to be a slow start for weddings, but when the season does eventually begin, we can’t wait to see what our couples have planned…
We take a look at a few of the new wedding trends coming to our industry this year..
Dried flowers including pampas grass and vintage roses was a popular trend of 2020 and with less wedding taking place last year, we think this is one trend which will continue into 2021. Perfect for adding a 70’s rustic vibe to your venue.

Whether you choose twinkling back drops, tree lights or under lit centre pieces, there are lots of ways to incorporate lighting into your day, what ever the season.
Lighting has been a wedding trend here at the King Arthur for some years now. The wooden pillars and beams in Avalon lend themselves so well to different lighting whether its wrapped fairy lights, draping festoons or a ceremony fairy light backdrop-all popular options with our couples. We have fairy lights in the large willow tree in our gardens, there are a huge hit with our couples, creating such beautiful couple shots, when the sun goes down.

According to Vogue, puff sleeves and more extravagant bridal wear are going to make an appearance for 2021, with people being more adventurous and over the top, glamour over minimalism.
We love the Spring 2021 collection from local Mumbles designer Stephanie Allin. Featuring statement sleeves, modern tailored looks and even beautiful sustainable overskirts made from recycled plastic bottles.
Weekday weddings have been on a gradual increase for quite some time now, but with 2021’s diaries already looking busy with postponements from last year, mid week weddings are set to be more popular than ever.
There are big savings to be had with a mid week wedding with many venues and suppliers offering discounts, giving you more to spend on the day itself.

Now more than ever, we are all looking for ways to live more sustainably. One way to contribute is shopping locally, buying British.
At the King Arthur, Gower we have cut back on our waste, switching to more eco-friendly products and using as much locally sourced food & drinks as much possible to reduce our carbon footprint and support local businesses.
‘Wed now, party later’
With the current restrictions in place, micro- weddings are still on the rise for 2021. Small, intimate weddings with your nearest and dearest with a focus on the smaller details- quality over quantity, really spoiling your guests.-Think big floral displays, champagne rather than prosecco and upgrades from chicken breasts to fillet steaks. Just because the wedding may be scaled back doesn’t mean it needs to be any less impressive.
Most of our couples have ‘saved the date’ for a full day of celebrations with everyone when the time is right. Something to look forward to plus another chance to wear your beautiful dress.
Mini moons and local honeymoons are definitely on the rise thanks to covid. Cosy countryside retreats or luxury coastal hotels…there are so many options in the UK. They can be less stressful with no lengthy travel to worry about, no language barriers and no luggage limits so you can pack to your hearts content
With over 70 square miles of unspoiled countryside to explore, Gower is an easy choice for a post wedding getaway. Snuggle up in one of our luxury 5 star apartments located next to the main hotel.
We can’t wait for the 2021 season to begin and to see which trends you have gone for. Even if there are restrictions in place, we will ensure your big day is special and memorable.
