Kitchen Porters

We are looking for part time and full time kitchen porters to join our busy kitchen team. 

The ideal candidate must be reliable and hardworking. No experience necessary, full training will be given. 

Your own transport is necessary due to location of hotel.

Wedding & Events Co-ordinator (Maternity Cover) 

This is an exciting opportunity for a hardworking and passionate individual to work at a successful wedding venue in Reynoldston, Gower. The King Arthur Hotel is a thriving family run business with busy bars, a restaurant and accommodation as well as being a very popular wedding venue.

A position has become available for a Wedding and Events Coordinator to join the wedding team for a minimum of 9 months to cover maternity leave.

Summary of Roles and Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Wedding and Events Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

· Responding to enquiries in a timely, confident and professional manner.

· Conducting viewings where clients are shown around the venue, grounds and accommodation whilst displaying clear and comprehensive knowledge of the venue, wedding menus, prices, offers and terms/conditions of bookings.

· Converting enquiries and viewings into bookings for weddings and other events

· To anticipate the clients needs in order to enhance quality of service and positively promote sales.

· To meet couples 6 months before their wedding date to agree details, create a schedule, suggest suitable table plans, discuss menu/drinks requirements and run through room decorations.

· Promoting sales to maximise revenue and profit for the hotel

· To personalise and bespoke weddings and events in order to create the perfect day for the client or couple

· Follow up these meetings in writing with a wedding quote, etc to the couples showing a clear and accurate understanding of their requirements.

· To ensure that all payments are logged and received on time.

· To organise and coordinate weddings and events in line with the clients needs and requests and where possible to offer advice and guidance to assist in their planning.

· To lead a team of staff with a level of respect and professionalism to match the high standard of our venue

· To create a smooth transition of communication from the planning to delivery of an event or wedding

· Producing accurate and detailed information for the chefs, for the senior manager to organise staff rotas, for the heads of departments to be aware of forthcoming events and for the staff to be knowledgeable of that days requirements e.g. the menu, schedule, etc.

· Ensure that other departments of the hotel are updated and contacted about any requirements that they will be involved with.

· Hold strong working relationships with all departments, including kitchen, reception, housekeeping and maintenance.

· Liaise with wedding suppliers in a professional manner to ensure that they are recommending our venue wherever possible.

· To participate in regular wedding and event meetings inhouse

· To attend any training courses suggested by the Wedding and Events Manager

· Organising and participating in wedding fayres/open days.

· Ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction both pre-post and during each event

· To relay images from weddings and events to the Marketing Manager for social media marketing

· To be up to date with knowledge of competitive businesses

· Assist the Wedding and Events Manager and perform all duties and responsibilities delegated by the manager in a timely and efficient manner

The ideal candidate must:

· Have at least 2 years experience working in weddings and events at a hospitality based business

· Have sales experience from a previous work place

· Display very strong communication skills both with clients, couples and the team.

· Be confident and approachable in nature around clients ensuring that they receive the best possible customer service

· Have experience running events showing an understanding of how weddings and events run on the day

· Be very well organised, enthusiastic and self-motivated

· Be well presented at all times

· Be able to work weekends and bank holidays

· Have their own transport due to our location

· Have excellent time keeping skills

· Be computer literate and very good administrative skills

· Be flexible to work varied shift patterns

· Preferably have marketing experience but not essential

Summary:

Working hours: minimum 40 hours over 5 days (including weekends) No set shifts/rota basis

Wedding & Events Head Chef 

We are looking for an experienced banqueting chef to join our busy wedding/ events department. 

-Must have at least 2 years experience as a wedding & events chef or similar role

-Expertise in executing banqueting menus 

-Attention to detail, organisational skills and ability to thrive in a fast paced environment

-Knowledge of food safety- level 3 required

-Excellent communication & interpersonal skills 

-Own personal transport is necessary due to location

Chef

We are currently looking to employ a chef to join our team in this fast paced, fresh food kitchen. The candidate must have previous experience in a similar position working in a busy kitchen, a drive and passion for food. The main roles of the positions are:

  • Working with the kitchen team to help maintain a well run and happy working environment
  • Ensure all food safety standards are maintained at all times
  • Ensure excellent food hygiene is observed from storage through to preparation and service
  • Ensure HACCP compliance within the kitchen
