Ffion fell in love with the venue after playing the harp in a ceremony here 7 years ago. When Owain popped the question some years later, there was only one venue to view and the rest they say is history. Read all about their big day with us on 8th April.

Tell us about your proposal..

We went to Edinburgh for a few days in October 2021 and Owain proposed in Edinburgh castle. I was so shocked because I always thought I would know if he was going to propose but I had no idea. I think I said ‘are you serious?!’ about 10 times before obviously saying yes.

What was your colour scheme/ theme?

Hunter green for the bridesmaid’s dresses and the wedding stationery and a mix of pinks and purples for the flowers. The colours worked so well together.

Where is your dress from? How many did you try on before you knew it was the one?

My dress was from Samantha K’s in Pontarddulais. Sam was fab! I lost count of how many dresses I tried on because she wanted me to try different styles to what I was picturing and that helped me so much to choose my dress. I ended up getting the very last dress I tried on and I absolutely loved it.

What song did you walk down the aisle to?

River Flows in You by Yiruma. We had my harp teacher from when I was younger, Nia Keinor, playing this on the harp while I walked down the aisle and it was so lovely to have her as part of our day.

 Why the King Arthur?

I played the harp in a wedding at the King Arthur about 7 years ago and went home and told my parents that I’d found my wedding venue! The venue is stunning and we liked how intimate it was which meant everyone could stay together all day.

I told Owain about it when we got engaged, we went to see it and he loved it too so we booked it and it was everything I’d hoped for.

Tell us about some of your suppliers…

We had some amazing suppliers who helped us make the day so special and we can’t thank them enough.

Faith Wilde and Menna Pierri were with us from 6am getting me, my mum and my bridesmaids ready with make up and hair. We all felt amazing all day thanks to them!

David Barrett was a fantastic photographer and captured all the best parts of our day. We are so grateful to have so many fab photos to cherish!

Jenna at Bloom Street Florals is the genius behind our beautiful flowers and the absolutely stunning flower arch. We were clueless when it came to flowers and she was so helpful and came up with amazing arrangements.

Ania at Supercakeilicious made our cake which was gorgeous and tasted amazing.

GotItCovered supplied the chair sashes which helped pull all the decorations together.

We had an amazing party in the evening thanks to The Polar Berries band. We love a dance and wanted the dance floor to be full all evening. The band made sure that was the case and everyone had the best time.

What advice would give to other couples leading up to their big day?

Make the most of every part. Enjoy the planning and share as much of it as you can with the people around you. Get the big things booked (like photographer, florist, band) early on – this helped make planning much less stressful knowing they were booked.
